Running actual distance

Sooo, on Saturday, while it was POURING, I ran 5 miles. Well ok, maybe not fully running, more like run/walking. But still. It was 5 miles! Next week is 6... I'm hanging in there, considering it's only the 3rd week of training. Hey, I could have quit at week 1. My fundraising letters are going out this week and I suspect several people will jump on here to see what I'm writing. Nothing terribly exciting, but at least I have a journal of sorts to record my journey. My life has become extremely busy in the last few months. With my promotion at work, "buying" a personal trainer (with a friend, half the cost), and training/fundraising, I hardly have time for myself. I guess that's what happens when you grow up.

Until next time...

What did I do...?

Ack! I'm running a marathon... Yes, me, myself and I will be running the San Diego Rock 'N' Roll marathon on June 5th. I think the last time I ran any sort of distance was in high school as a cheerleader. I was always the last one in and felt like my lungs were going to burst out of my chest because I couldn't breathe in enough oxygen. Anyway, this is a goal for 2005 and I know I can do it, as daunting as it sounds. I joined a really great group, Team In Training, to help out with my training. If you got here without going through my donation page, I encourage you to check it out! www.active.com/donate/tntsdh/lisawhitman I'm doing this for a great cause and hope you will support my efforts in helping to find a cure. Check back weekly for updates on my training and any other things that may be going on in my life! Until then...
